Antigone: Creon and Antigone’s Suffering
In the tragedy “Antigen” there are two mall characters who suffer greatly, Croon and Antigen. Although, compared to Antigen, Screen’s suffering Is more Intense. Croon does not accept and understands his flaws, his tragedy basically happens due to his stubbornness, narcissism and tyrant-Like behavior. Croon suffers the most because he Is the guilty one, he does the most wrong which causes a lot of the dark turns In the play. He deliberately Ignores the fact that his family is suffering and even his people.
He makes fun of his son, for his choice of a bride. When Organ and Thebes die, Croon is stubborn and refuses to give them a respectful ceremony. And lastly, he is disrespectful to Eateries when he is just simply trying to warn Croon of the consequences coming to him. In the end, Croon suffers the most because he does way more harm than good and karma was bound to bite him sometime. Antigen suffers greatly too Just not as much as Croon, but she is a tragic hero. In the beginning of the play, she suffers when her brothers die and then they didn’t get a proper funeral.
Antigen faces a difficult decision, because each of the decisions lead to death. But also, she believes that once she is dead, nobody will remember her. When Antigen ends up killing herself, it makes her a tragic hero because what she did was morally right. Both Antigen and Croon suffer greatly but Croon definitely suffers the most because he doesn’t accept that his decisions are so greatly immoral. Antigen did the right thing in the end, which is why she is the tragic hero of the play. But Croons actions and guilt will essentially “eat him alive”, causing way more suffering, especially in the afterlife.
