Antigones sister is very conventional and believes women should do what men tell them to do. Women should follow the rules that are given to them.
Signifigance: Antigone is willing to break the mold to do what she believes is right.

Contexts: The guard comes to creon and says polynices body was found and someone was trying to burry him. Chorus thinks this is an act of the gods and creon doesn’t believe it.

Sentry doesn’t want to have anything to do with what creaon is requesting. Creon wont admit that hes wrong. He cants show his weakness as a ruler.

Haemon is going to do whatever his dad tells him to. Lives by his fathers laws

Hamens suggesting to creon that the wrong thing to do is killing Antigone. Is it possible dad, that your wrong about this? This makes hamen a stronger character.

She is ashamed of her parents. And feels that her siguation is because she is being punished for her parents sin.
*the “ill-starred marriage,” is Polynices marriage to the princess of Argive, whose army joined him in trying to take-over Thebes.

Antigone is explaining why she is willing to die for her brother. She can never have another brother (if her husband or son died, she can have another but she cannot have another brother due to her parents being dead.) MATRIOGICAL

Teiresias talking to creon TEIRESIAS IS A BLIND PROPHET, he says the future
Context: Teiresias was trying to advise creon to change his mind.
He is saying your going to pay the price for this decision for killing Antigone and for not burying Polyneices is by losing your own son.

The messanger is relating how creon is getting what was coming to him for his bad descition making and pride.( his family is dead and hes alone)creaon ahs lost his credibility as a ruler

It takes creon loosing his son, and his wife to admit that he was wrong. You only learn things till its to late. He should have relied on the law of the gods like Antigone and not mans law. Antiognes way of doing things is the morally correct way. Do not let pride govern your descistions
