When we are faced with a challenge, most of us will fight it hard. This is the older thinking pattern that results in negativity. Here are a few ways to modify the old thinking pattern and bring yourself into a positive thinking mode.

First, never let negative advice bother you. If a security guard’s wife complains about being a night guard, inform her that it is not your fault and then tell her that she should go talk to her husband about it. The security guard job is stressful enough without adding more stress to an already challenging situation. If a security guard’s boss makes some disparaging remarks about him, simply dismiss them. You may have to put some space between you two, but it’s important that she is not able to contact you .

Most security guard jobs require you to be on your feet daily, sometimes for long periods at a time. If you work in an office building, it’s important that you are comfortable with your legs. Dress well so they do not hurt. Shoes and socks should be worn when working, wherever you are working. If you can, try to find a good closet which allows you more space so you can change your outfit easily without getting up.

When you’re thinking positively, you’ll find that you’re happier and healthier. When you are thinking negatively, you tend to have more health problems. This is because negative thoughts have a tendency to drain you of energy, which leads to you becoming angry and depressed. Rather, change your way of thinking to one of optimism. Think positively about your job and you will discover that it gets done better.

Change how you think about anything that has to do with your job performance and you will see the difference in your attitude and your own performance.
