First, never let negative advice bother you. If a security guard’s wife complains about being a night guard, tell her that it’s not your fault and then tell her that she should go talk to her husband about it. The security guard job is stressful enough without adding more stress to an already challenging situation. If a security guard’s boss makes some disparaging remarks about him, simply dismiss them. You may need to put some distance between you two, but it is important that she is not able to contact you .

Most individuals do not realize that the way you think is also the way that you act. If you start to get rid of the things in your life which aren’t worth you doing, you will begin to notice you have less anxiety. This is because you are becoming someone who is organized, practical, and effective. When you think in those terms, you won’t be thinking about why you aren’t having as much fun at your job as you did. Most security guard jobs require you to be on your feet daily, sometimes for extended periods at a time. If you work in an office building, it’s important that you’re comfortable with your legs. Dress well so that they do not hurt. Shoes and socks should be worn when working, wherever you’re working. This is because negative thoughts have a tendency to drain you of energy, which leads to you becoming angry and depressed. Instead, change your way of thinking to one of optimism. Think positively about your work and you’ll find that it gets done better.

Change how you think about anything that has to do with your work performance and you’ll see the difference in your attitude and your own performance.
