A. The English language during the Dark Ages changed because of constant takeovers of different cultures. When the Romans took over the Celtic, the language of the land changed too, and it was the same when the Anglo-Saxons ruled. The language went from Celtic, to Latin, to German, and then developed into Old English. There was never a standardized English language in the Dark Ages because it was a constantly developing language.
