First, never let negative advice bother you. If a security guard’s wife complains about being a night guard, inform her that it’s not your fault and then inform her that she should go talk to her husband about it. The security guard job is stressful enough without adding more stress to an already challenging situation. If a security guard’s boss makes some disparaging remarks about him, simply ignore them. You may need to put some distance between you two, but it is important that she is not able to contact you again.

Most security guard jobs require you to be on your feet all day long, sometimes for extended periods at a time. If you work in an office building, it is important that you are comfortable with your legs. Dress well so that they do not hurt. Shoes and socks should be worn when working, no matter where you are working. If you can, try to discover a good closet which allows you more space so you can change your outfit easily without getting up.

This is because negative thoughts tend to drain you of energy, which results in you becoming angry and depressed. Rather, change your way of thinking to one of optimism.
