After Eurydice finds out about Hansom’s death, she stops knitting, goes to her room and cuts her throat. Antigen is a play that has three major themes. The three themes am talking about are love, pride, and tragedy, All of them play a very important role in this play. First, love is what is getting her in trouble. Antigen’s love for her brother is so great that she sacrificed her life for the respect that her brother deserved. Hansom’s love for Antigen is so great that it is leading him to commit suicide cause his father tells him that he has to live without her.
Hammond didn’t want 3 life Without Antigen. Eurydice love for Hammond had made her commit suicide when she found out Hammond is killing himself. Next, pride is What is getting Croon in a mess. His pride is so great that he couldn’t even admit that maybe what he is doing is wrong. His pride is standing in the way of listening to his son. Croon was feeling that he could do anything he wants and nobody’s feelings Will interfere in his decisions as king. Because of his pride, he is ending up losing everything he loves, especially his son, Hammond. Last but not least, tragedy is the next theme.
Screen’s tragedy is his dilemma with Antigen. He is upholding the law of the city and as king upholds his edicts. His tragedy is also when Hammond is killing himself in the tomb after Antigen was buried alive. He dishonors death by leaving Policies’ body to rot. He breaks up the marriage of He-man and Antigen. Antigen’s tragedy is her loyalty to her brother and to give him a proper burial. Her defiance and disregard to Croon.
